Samsung are currently preparing to produce flexible, unbreakable mobile phone screens that can be bent, twisted and even folded up and put in your pocket! They are apparently in the final stage of development and will be ready to ship them out to customers as soon as next year.
While regular LED displays are usually made on a glass surface, the flexible display is possible by depositing organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) onto a flexible plastic surface. Samsung, however, are not the only Company to have invested heavily into this research on flexible screens with Sony and LG also launching prototypes.
The move to produce flexible displays comes as smartphone and tablet makers look for ways to differentiate their products in a market full of identical products.
Look out for the first flexible mobile phones from mid 2013!
